Flight Report:SQ 529 - Chennai To Singapore

This post covers the return leg of my journey,from Chennai to Singapore.


Finally after a month of enjoyment and relaxation in Chennai,It was time to head back Home.


Flight: SQ 529

Operator: Singapore Airlines

Registration: 9V-SSI

STD: 11:15 PM Local Time
ATD: 11:30 PM Local Time

STA: 06:10 AM Local Time
ATA: 06:02 AM Local Time

Duration: 4 hours 2 minutes

Review: Check in at Chennai Airport at around 8 pm for the flight.Literally no queues at the check in counters.

Chennai airport is not as good as other airports of India.Not many shops and services.Free Wifi is available but only for 15 minutes.For further use,You have to pay.

Our gate was first designated as 18 but due to the delayed pushback of Ek 547(to Dubai)from that gate,The incoming aircraft from Singapore was directed to gate 16 instead which is part of the old terminal.

We had to take the escalator down and a long walk to gate 16.The incoming aircraft was 20 minutes late from Singapore.

Boarding Started at 11PM local time and was completed within 20 minutes and pushback commenced five minutes later.

International Selection:

Appetiser: Vegetable Pasta

Main: Baked Fish with mash and buttered Vegetables

Dessert: Chocolate Cake

From the Bakery: Bread Roll and Butter

Drinks: Coffee-Tea

Indian Vegetarian:

Appetiser: Curd Rice with Pomegranate 

Main: Veg Briyani

Dessert: Rasamalai

From the Bakery: Bread Roll and Butter

Drinks: Masala Tea

Indian Non-Vegetarian:

Appetiser: Curd Rice with Pomegranate

Main: Chicken Briyani with Tomato base Curry

Dessert: Rasamalai

From the Bakery: Bread Roll and Butter

Drinks: Masala Tea

I chose the Indian Non-veg option.The briyani was good with generous amount of chicken pieces though the curry was a bit too tangy for my liking.The curd rice and rasamalai were good.Every Indian selection also came with papadums and pickle.

Entertainment:Each seat had a 10.6 inch PTV with the latest movies and music.I would strongle advise you to use your own headphones with an airline adaptor for better audio quality than the earbuds SQ provides.

Landing: Rest of the flight was uneventful and we landed on time at 06:02 AM Singapore time at terminal 3.Cleared Immigration and collected my baggage and Went home.

This brings to the end of my wonderful holiday.
