Payment Methods: Tokens can be purchased at the stations from the ticketing machines for travel.All tokens are for single use only and have to be returned at the station where you alight.

A stored value card can also be purchased which can be recharged regularly for continuous use and to avoid the hassle of buying token everytime you use the metro.


Security and Safety:All passengers have to pass through a detector before going to the platform to board the train and all bags are scanned.This ensures optimum safety for all passengers.


Cleanliness:All the stations are clean and well maintained.Interiors of the trains are clean as well with no signs of litter.


Seating:Seating is comfortable in the train.The air conditioning works well to and might get particularly cold at times.Hand straps are in place for the safety of standing passengers.All announcements are made through the intercom system and are done in both English and Tamil.

Koyambedu:The first station on the metro rail.Alight here to go to the koyambedu market which sells fresh produce and cheap rates.

CMBT:Alight here to go the Chennai moffussil Bus Terminus to board buses which ply along the whole city.

Arumbakkam:Alight here to visit the Ford Showroom and many schools are located in this area which is primarily a residential locality.

Vadapalani:Alight here to visit Forum Vijaya shopping mall which also has the Palazzo cinema which is operated by sathyam.

Ashok Nagar:Alight here to visit few places of worship and this is also primarily a residential area.

Ekkathuthangal:Alight here to visit the hilton hotel and this is mainly a business area with the olympia tech park located here.

Alandur:Alight here to visit the various places of worship which are located here including various mosques,hindu temples and churches.
