Iru Mugan Movie Review

Movie Name: Iru Mugan

Director: Anand Shankar

Starring: Vikram(dual role), nayanthara, nithya menon, thambi ramaiah among others

Music:Harris Jayaraj

Synopsis:The movie starts off slowly followed by vikram's introduction scene and the movie really starts to set in after the 15 minute mark. Vikram's flashback is shown in parts throughout the movie. He is potraying the role of a RAW officer. Thambi ramaiah comedy is funny but does not bode well in the film.

The film then moves along at a brisk pace with several miniscule characters in the movie whose scope is very limited.A very interesting and unexpected twist just before the interval leaves the audience at the edge of their seats.

The second half begins with a long talkie scene followed by another superb twist.A cat and mouse ensues between the hero and villain and the film ends with a thrilling and action packed climax.

Music:Harris Jayaraj provides the music for this movie. All the songs are well composed and sung. The BGM is another highlight of the film and makes the viewer's eyes glued to the screen.

What Works;

1: Vikram carries the entire film on his shoulders. He shines in both roles as hero and villain.
2: All the action scenes are well choreographed.
3: Addicting background score
4: Gripping screenplay

What does not work:

1: Thambi Ramaiah comedy does not bode well for an action thriller like this.
2: Major Logic Flaws in the film.
3: Unneccessary placement of songs in the film.
4: Flashback portions slow down the pace of the film.

Verdict:A stylish action thriller, though there are some logic flaws in the film,it remains as an eye pleasing spectacle for the viewers.

Overall Rating: 3.25/5
